A theatrical concert of ambient and beat musics
Dark, wistful and comic, this performance is unlike any of the previous Suart shows at the Leconfield. The music is spacy, bluesy, funky and thumpy, and is augmented by theatrical costume and gesture, and not a little madness.
Subjects covered include Closing Time in the Gardens of the West (Cyril Connolly, 1949), Crime in Hong Kong, Monks, the Horn of Desolation (that brings the sky down on our heads), the Chymaera (and the Sleep of Reason), Fanfare for the Common Man (Aaron Copland, 1942), Shamanic Diving (the Waterfall of All the Oceans).
Two forty-five-minute sets with an interval offering clandestine escape.
Not suitable for children or dogs.
